Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Brother John B. Brokenshire, 70, of Harveys Lake, who passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

John was born on July 27, 1945, a son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Culp Brokenshire. He was a 1963 graduate of Forty Fort High School. John obtained a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1967 from Penn State University and his M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1977. He was self-employed as a C.P.A. at John B. Brokenshire, C.P.A.

John was a member of the Northeast Pleasure Riders Motorcycle Club, the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and the Delancey Scotsmans Single Malt Scotch Tasting Club. He also served as the treasurer of Warden Place Improvement Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Brokenshire Miller; and brother, Bud Brokenshire.

Surviving are his ex-wife and close friend, Judith Ney Brokenshire; sons, John Brokenshire Jr. and his wife, Amanda, North Carolina; and James Brokenshire, Harveys Lake, and his fiancée, Rose Ann Caffrey, Edwardsville; brothers, Robert Brokenshire, Dickson City; Bruce Myers and his wife, Cheryl, Dallas; and Richard Myers and his wife, Janice, Virginia; sister, Pamela Myers Bernoski and her husband, Dan, New Jersey; two grandsons, Bryan Brokenshire, Beaumont; Matthew Caffrey, Wilkes-Barre; two great-grandsons; sisters-in-law, Jane Ney Aritz and her husband, Frank, Swoyersville; Lori Ney Grablick and her husband, Joseph, Wyoming; nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Lake Snow Brokenshire, his yellow Lab.
