I am extremely saddened to report the passing of Brother William "Bill" Coale ??695

I had the distinct honor of being in Bill's presence several times due to working on our Capital Campaign as well at our Golf Outings. Bill taught me many things during our conversations and he was an inspiration to me. His legacy will not be forgotten.

(July 17, 1936 - March 28, 2014)

William Coale, 77, of Millersville, MD, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Friday March 28th.

He was born in Bristol, PA on July 17, 1936 to Robert and Claire Coale. Bill graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S in Business Administration with a major in Money and Banking. Bill was married to Joan Bower on July 5, 1958.

While at Penn State Bill was a freshman walk on football player, a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, Class President, All University Cabinet and the Blue Hat Society and was the student commander of the Air Force ROTC.

Upon graduation Bill continued with the Air Force as an Accounting and Finance Officer, serving in Korea. He retired from the Air Force as a Reserve Major. After the Air Force, Bill started his career in the printing industry working as a salesman for various companies. In 1969 he started with Havertown Printing Company, first in sales and then as a Financial Officer. He became President of partner firm Lehigh Litho and then CEO/Chairman of Alcom Printing Group. Bill was instrumental in the consolidation of all 3 companies into one facility. He retired from Alcom Printing Group after 35 years of service.

Bill was a member of the Graphic Arts Association for almost 20 years and served on their board of Directors. He received the Neographics Person of the Year Award in 1999. In 2006 Bill was inducted into the National Ben Franklin Society of PIA/GATF.

His wife of 55 years, Joan; his son Stephen and daughter-in-law Connie Coale, daughter Leslie and son-in-law Bruce Brown and 4 grandchildren, Chase and Chelsea Coale and Ryan and William Brown, survive Bill. Preceding him in death are his daughter Lisa Ann and son Jeffrey Alan.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held to honor the life of William Coaleon Saturday, April 5th 2014 at 2:00pmat Chartwell Country Club.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Episcopal Academy Jeffrey A. Coale Memorial Fund, (1785 Bishop White Drive, Newtown Square PA 19073-1300.)
